Alpha Prois looking for a Video Editor for its Rawalpindi Office. The person will be responsible for cutting and editing film footage until it meets a director's approval. This includes rearranging and splicing scenes that have already been shot, determining if scenes need to be re-shot, and inserting music, sound, or optical effects.
Job Specification Edit film until it meets director's specifications.
Watch scenes and determine which will end up on the cutting room floor.
Rearrange scenes.
Work with and manipulate raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects.
Determine which camera angles to use.
Insert music, sound, or optical effects.
Use nonlinear digital editing systems to edit clips.
Work with work prints to organize the scenes and transitions that make up a film.
Create edit decision lists to correspond to the edge numbers.
Edit film for commercials, station identification, and public service messages on television films and tapes.
Work on feature films, television programs, music videos, corporate training videos, or advertisements.
Reorder and tweak the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video.
Input uncut rushes and sound.
Determine exact cutting for final stages.
Work with the director to achieve the desired end result.
ADDITIONAL TASKS MAY INCLUDE: Overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing.
Consulting with the director, producer, and/or client throughout the post-production process.
Experimenting with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements.
Selecting the most effective shot of a scene in terms of drama, story relevance, or continuity.
Writing voiceover/commentary.
Suggesting or selecting music.
Expert hands-on knowledge in: Graphics or photo imaging software: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.
Video creation and editing software: Pinnacle, Adobe Premiere Pro, Windows Media Services.
REQUIREMENTS:3+ years of video editing and filming experience.
Self-starter who is able to troubleshoot and work independently.
Ability to travel for shooting on location.
Solid understanding of typography and a clean design aesthetic.
