  • Advanced mouse genetics

  • State of the art in vitro/vivo imaging

  • Development of organoid cultures

Please note that we are seeking a either a Reader or Senior Lecturer or Lecturer and only one appointment will be made.

The National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) is a major department of the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College. The Institute is a world-leading research centre for investigating the causes and mechanisms underlying diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems which are highlighted themes of the Faculty Research Strategy. NHLI takes a bench-to-bedside approach with research projects from basic science all the way through to translational clinical medicine in collaboration with our NHS partners, and is recognised as an international centre of research excellence in terms of measures such as publications, grants and REF scores.

As a member of the NHLI, you will be working within the Inflammation, Development and Repair Section of the Respiratory Science Division. You will have an excellent track record in publications and research grants and have experience in areas such as the ones mentioned above. You will be a fellow team member who will complement our current research activity; no previous experience in respiratory science is necessary.  To excel in this role, you will possess a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area.

NHLI provides an outstanding environment for basic, clinical and translational research, and this is a unique opportunity for you who have the vision, leadership and ambition to be among the best in your field. We will provide you with a generous salary and an appointment package commensurate with this prestigious position.

We encourage applications from underrepresented groups, particularly women and those from black, Asian or minority ethnic backgrounds.

This is an open ended, full-time post to be based at the South Kensington Campus. Imperial College is supportive of flexible working. The recruiting department is happy to discuss the possibility of implementing such arrangements for this post, with suitably qualified people subject to operational requirements.

Informal enquires can be made to Lindsay Melling, Career Development Co-ordinator at the NHLI, on e-mail [email protected]
