Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Plant Reliability and Efficiency Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of mechanical equipment within our plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the regular inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, ensuring that all equipment runs smoothly and adheres to safety and operational standards. The role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize maintenance activities and ensure minimal downtime.
Responsibilities: Inspection & Reliability Assessments:
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical equipment and assess their reliability.
- Identify and escalate any abnormalities or issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
Execution of Maintenance Procedures:
- Execute job orders according to approved procedures and in compliance with plant safety policies.
- Perform the maintenance, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
SAP Notifications & Refurbishment Orders:
- Create notifications in SAP for any abnormalities and initiate the refurbishment order process as necessary.
Maintenance Order Creation & Planning:
- Maintain and update technical documentation and create maintenance orders when detailed planning or spare parts are required.
- Work on existing Maintenance Orders and oversee the Order Execution Process.
Inventory & Spare Parts Management:
- Maintain an inventory of mechanical spare parts, ensuring that adequate stock is available to support plant operations.
- Record and manage spare parts accurately to maintain equipment reliability.
- Develop plans for the optimal use of materials, labor, and services, and make decisions regarding material or service procurement.
Calibration & Documentation:
- Initiate and oversee the Calibration Order Process, ensuring accurate schedules and measurements.
- Process measuring documents to assess upper and lower ranges, generating warning messages as required.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and review activity, breakdown, inspection, and job schedule reports.
- Track and report on energy consumption, maintenance activities, and equipment issues, providing regular updates to the line manager.
Recommendations for Upgrades & Replacements:
- Advise management on replacing faulty or outdated mechanical components and fixtures to improve efficiency and reliability.
Collaboration with Production Team:
- Work closely with the production team to formulate cost-effective and efficient manufacturing processes that enhance plant operations.
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a plant environment.
Strong knowledge of SAP for maintenance management.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
