Description

SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER



POSITION PURPOSE:



Provide project management, engineering and support of automation, process control, and MES systems for the plant facilities.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



Bachelors Degree



Four plus years experience with automation and control systems design.



High level of proficiency working with PLCs, PLC programming, automation controls, and Control Systems.



Solid mathematics and physical science background. Ability to model physical systems in software.



Demonstrated multiple project management capability.



Good working knowledge in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.



Good working knowledge of HMI or programming languages.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



Experience with several PLC languages, AC/DC motor drive knowledge, Power Systems and Power Electronics.



Steel plant or equivalent industrial experience.



High level of knowledge of Industrial Ethernet networks, Wireless Networks and field bus networking.



Wonderware HMI, Visual Basic, and SQL programming experience.



Good verbal and written communications skills.



MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Multiple project management for new and existing equipment.



Budget estimation and management for projects.



Design electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machine controls.



Design and implement Process Control Systems.



Program, commission, and debug PLC programs.



Work with Operational Technology Engineers to interface control systems with MES and SQL database systems.



Identify opportunities to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and improve quality.



Assist Maintenance and Production employees with troubleshooting.



Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.



Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
