This position
is .25 FTE (approximately 10 hours per week).

The Research Scientist position supports a PI in designing, undertaking and analyzing information from
laboratory-based investigations and experiments. It creates a bridge between a post-doctoral program and full-time employment as a faculty
member or researcher and serves to prepare an individual to undertake the responsibilities of a faculty member or researcher.

Plans and conducts assigned and/or original research projects autonomously while working collectively with HCOM
faculty, staff and students.

2. Maintains accurate records of research findings and the analysis of results.

3. Prepares
manuscripts for publication in collaboration with HCOM faculty, staff and students. Presents research findings at
professional meetings.

4. Mentors medical, graduate and undergraduate students as appropriate. Assists with formal teaching in areas
of expertise.

5. Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Must have completed a PhD or equivalent in related technical or scientific discipline.
  • Strong
    interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Ability to develop
    manuscripts and deliver presentations.
