About This Role:

Kansas State University’s Department of Food, Nutrition,
Dietetics and Health, in the College of Human Ecology, invites applications for the Clinical Education Coordinator/
Instructor
position for the CAATE Accredited, Athletic Training Professional Program. We are seeking a dynamic faculty member to
provide recruitment, quality instruction, and mentorship for students at Kansas State University. This position is will fill the vacancy of
one of the four athletic training faculty positions at Kansas State University. This is a permanent faculty line that will begin at the
instructor level with the potential for promotion into a tenure track or clinical professor track position for a qualified candidate.


Responsibilities of the position will include

  • Administrative oversight and evaluation of current on-campus
    and off-campus student clinical experiences,
  • Development and recruitment of new clinical experiences and preceptors,

  • Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Academic advising
  • Assisting with university, college and department
    activities that aid in the recruitment of Athletic Training Students,
  • Evaluation of Athletic Training Students,
  • Providing
    regular communication and professional development for preceptors,
  • Provide service to the university and Athletic Training
    professional organizations.
  • Assist the Program Director with the administration of the CAATE Accredited Athletic Training
    Program

more 500 undergraduate majors and more 100 MS and PhD students. Faculty members in the department have research interests in neuromuscular
function, concussion in youth sports, human performance, and gerontology. The department supports multiple active laboratories that conduct
research in broad areas of food and health, including the Physical Activity and Nutrition Clinical Research Consortium (PAN-CRC), the Center
for Food Safety in Child Nutrition Programs, and the Center for Sensory Analysis and Consumer Behavior. The department has a strong history
of securing extramural funding from national agencies (e.g., National Institutes of Health, USDA, AHA, and ACS). The Department maintains
active collaborations with the Department of Kinesiology, Department of Grain Science and Industry, the Department of Anatomy and
Physiology, and the School of Family Studies and Human Services. Kansas State University is a comprehensive, research, land grant
institution with an enrollment of ~25,000 students. The main campus is located on a beautiful 2,300 acre campus in Manhattan, a fast
growing, multicultural metropolitan population of more than 125,000 in the rolling Flint Hills of northeast Kansas.

What
You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a PhD or
    equivalent terminal degree in a related-field; ABD will be considered with verification of potential completion prior to July, 2019. They
    are required to be a BOC certified athletic trainer in good standing with the BOC, and all state regulatory boards that they are currently,
    and/or have been previously, licensed. The candidates must have 3-5 years of clinical practice experience, and be eligible for licensure
    with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. Candidates must have evidence of effective teaching of Athletic Training courses, and have
    experience with CAATE Accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior
    experience as Clinical Education Coordinator or Program Director in CAATE Accredited Professional Program. Prior teaching experience in core
    Athletic Training Courses, experience as a CAATE Site Visitor.

Other Requirements:


  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
