Senior Commercial Manager – Abu Dhabi, UAE (Secondment Role)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager for a secondment in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role is ideal for a veteran commercial leader (25+ years of experience) who has overseen mega projects and can provide strategic leadership to our commercial team.
As a key figure within our project structure, you will be responsible for driving commercial excellence, enhancing team performance, and ensuring contractual compliance across large-scale developments. This role will be bringing focus, structure, and leadership to the team’s overall output.
Key Responsibilities:
High-Level Commercial Oversight – Provide strategic leadership and ensure robust commercial management across all project phases.
Team Leadership & Development – Oversee and mentor the commercial team, ensuring efficiency, clarity, and alignment with project objectives.
Mega Project Expertise – Manage and optimize commercial strategies for large-scale, complex projects in Abu Dhabi.
Contract & Claims Management – Supervise contract administration, claims handling, and risk mitigation, ensuring compliance with FIDIC and local regulations.
Stakeholder Engagement – Act as the primary commercial representative, engaging with clients, consultants, and contractors to drive successful outcomes.
Financial Control & Reporting – Oversee cost control, budget management, and commercial reporting, providing senior leadership with critical financial insights.
Requirements:
25+ years of commercial management experience in construction, with a focus on mega projects.
Strong leadership skills, capable of managing a commercial team and enhancing overall performance.
Extensive experience in contract management, claims, and cost control.
Proven expertise in FIDIC contracts and UAE construction law.
Previous experience in the UAE preferred, with a strong understanding of regional market dynamics.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and analytical skills.
