The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal Solution Architect to lead and manage our team of Solution Architects while holding overall accountability for the technical delivery of large, complex projects. This is a pivotal role that combines deep technical expertise, leadership, and client engagement to ensure successful project outcomes and innovation. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Management Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team of Solution Architects, providing coaching, technical guidance, and career development support. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence. Act as a role model for technical leadership and promote knowledge-sharing across teams. Technical Delivery & Accountability Own and drive the end-to-end technical delivery of large-scale, complex projects, ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality. Ensure architectural decisions meet business requirements while remaining scalable, secure, and efficient. Identify and implement opportunities for technical innovation, automation, and process optimisation to improve project outcomes and delivery efficiency. Client Engagement & Relationship Management Serve as a senior technical point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring alignment between technical delivery and client expectations. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Project Collaboration Collaborate closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of projects, managing risks, dependencies, and change. Provide regular updates on technical progress, risks, and mitigation plans to senior leadership and project stakeholders. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Lead technical assessments and recommend best-fit solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and business strategy. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, bringing innovative ideas to drive business value and efficiency. Qualifications Key Requirements Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant technical certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, TOGAF) are desirable. Experience Minimum 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or principal role. Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex technology projects in fast-paced big data environments. Extensive full-stack technical knowledge across front-end, back-end, cloud, and Dev Ops. Technical Skills Deep expertise in full-stack development, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and modern software architecture patterns (microservices, APIs, containerisation). Strong understanding of automation, CI/CD, and Dev Ops practices. Ability to evaluate and implement emerging technologies and innovative solutions. Leadership & Communication Skills Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire technical teams. Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to manage client expectations and influence decision-making. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
