Wood is recruiting for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on preparing pipeline design deliverables for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Sharjah, UAE on a 5/2 work schedule. This is a full‑time, office‑based role in Sharjah.
Role
This exciting opportunity is for an experienced Senior Pipeline Engineer.
Key Objectives
Prepare pipeline design deliverables
Provide input to produce pipeline documents and drawings
Complete pipeline design calculations (wall thickness, buoyancy, bending, etc.)
Provide field engineering support for site surveys and data gathering
Complete Material Take Offs and associated Material Requisitions
Coordinate procurement bids and complete technical bid evaluations
Identify optimisation and operating cost reduction opportunities
Ensure construction and field modifications meet the requirements of all applicable codes, standards and regulations
Coordinate with interdisciplinary activities such as PFD & P&ID’s
Manage design team activities and assist Senior Designer and Engineers
Co‑ordinate all activities related to pipeline discipline
Travel to Basra, Iraq as required
Promote safe behaviour at all times
Proficiency in MS Excel, Caesar II/Autopipe and awareness of Arc GIS, Auto CAD, Navisworks
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of experience
Experience in building and producing engineering deliverables
Experience working with multi‑national and multi‑cultural project teams
Previous experience in the Middle East is an advantage
Experience in sour service operations is an advantage
Familiarity with typical software packages used for pipeline engineering design
