ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a full-time Solar Design Engineer to perform engineering and project support tasks for commercial and utility scale solar / photovoltaic system.
The individual must have expertise in detailed design packages for utility-scale solar PV systems including plan and elevation drawings, schematics, and energy model calculations.
The candidate must also have experience with developing submission packages for grid integration and coordinating with utilities.
The candidate must be extremely task and detail-oriented and strive for zero tolerance in meeting quality objectives and deadlines. The ideal candidate must possess professional command of English, written and verbal, and be skilled in use of Auto CAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create conceptual design layouts and electrical diagrams for commercial scale solar arrays utilizing Auto CAD, Helios 3 D/ PVcase and PVsyst with engineering oversight
Provide technical support to client development, engineering, procurement, construction, and O&M departments for the entire life cycle of a project including development, permitting, construction and asset management phases
Create energy models for commercial & Utility scale solar arrays utilizing PVSYST and Helioscope with engineering oversight
Interact with a variety of engineering disciplines including civil, geotechnical, structural, and electrical
Support utility interconnection and permitting application processes
Additional duties as assigned and/or directed
REQUIRED SKILL SET
Degree in engineering or equivalent educational/certification background
Minimum 2 years of work experience in Solar Design
Auto CAD, PVsyst, Helios 3 D/ PVcase & Helioscope software proficiency required
MS Word, Excel, and Power Point software proficiency
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
