Job
Description

Western Nevada College is recruiting for a part-time (48% FTE) Security Officer in the Public Safety Department
for the Douglas Campus. This position will patrol the campus by foot to identify any security or safety issues and respond accordingly.
The incumbent will be responsible for enforcing all laws and regulations, maintaining security of building, enforcing parking and traffic
regulation, assisting the public as needed, and other duties as assigned. Additionally, the incumbent will maintain accurate records and
logs of all incidents and inventory on campus, maintain certification standards for all tools and equipment used, and maintain certification
in first aid, CPR and weaponless defense tactics.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or
equivalent education and two years of experience in public contact work which included applying and implementing rules, regulations or
established policies.

This position requires having a valid driver's license at time of appointment and as a condition of continued
employment.

This position requires CPR certification within the first 90 days of employment and as a condition of continuing
employment.

This position requires First Aid certification within the first 90 days of employment and as a condition of continuing
employment.

This position requires extended periods of walking or standing and exposure to inclement weather.

This position
requires the candidate to complete safety training in bicycle patrol and utilize provided bicycle.

Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this
position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment
screening for controlled substances.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday - Thursday from 5:30pm to
10pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
