The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for the position of NSHE Specialist 1, School of Nursing [R0106332]


ROLE of the POSITION

NSHE Specialists perform a variety of activities unique to a college and university setting.
This can include the support of academic, research, social, psychological and cultural endeavors and objectives of the NSHE.


Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently and problem solve with little or no
additional training.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, this position will give direct support to the
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; provide program level expertise regarding the student tracking system database E*Value; create and
implement training sessions, guideline manuals, work with faculty to establish or change course evaluations to meet accreditation
requirements, accessing data for a variety of reports; provide oversight and supervision of all student background and drug screen checks to
ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations; provide oversight of the NEXus program; and serve as point of contact for
all accreditation visits. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional evenings; this is
subject to change based on organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
or university and one year of relevant experience; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of program support
experience equivalent to an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada state service which included applying complex laws and regulations,
composing written materials and maintaining records; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.


SALARY

Grade 31 Step 1, salary $40,862.16. "Step" means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource
Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial
appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
