The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for the position of Facility Supervisor 2, Facilities Management


Facility Supervisors plan, organize and direct buildings and grounds maintenance, repair,
custodial work, security functions, and fleet maintenance and supervise skilled and semi-skilled staff.

Incumbents function as
first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance if assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate
disciplinary action.

The UNLV Department of Facilities Management is seeking a Facility Supervisor 2. The incumbent will be
responsible for the daily operations and job progress of multiple tradespersons and will perform lead journey level duties as required.
Duties include, but are not limited to establishing, assigning, and evaluating work schedules, duties, and priorities; monitoring assigned
budget, inventory, and expenditures; managing document maintenance; identifying promoting, and managing projects related to upgrading
retrofitting, or replacing systems and/or equipment; supervising, managing and leading the daily operations, job progress and performance of
skilled electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry work; and investigating and resolving alarms and trouble signals for fire system
equipment including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and alarm panels.

This position will work Monday to Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm


Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of building and facilities
maintenance or construction experience which must have included project planning, preparation of job/project cost estimates, scheduling and
project management, one year of which was at a supervisory level; OR one year of experience as a Facility Supervisor I in Nevada State
service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

For Facility Supervisor 2, completion of Facility Operator
Certification for Utility Systems (FOCUS) or a comparable instructional program in facility maintenance may be substituted for one year of
non-supervisory experience.

Incumbent must work toward obtaining Nevada State Fire Marshall F or G card.

A valid Nevada class
C driver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.

Incumbent must obtain
Asbestos Abatement Worker Certification within the first year of employment and Asbestos Abatement Supervisor Certification within second
year of hire date, must maintain license as condition of continued employment, and perform asbestos related work as needed.

must obtain a Class A CDL with Tanker endorsements within one year of hire date and it must be maintained throughout employment.

Incumbent must obtain EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant License within one year of hire date and it must be maintained throughout


Preference will be given to candidates who have a Journeyman level (or
higher) license in one or more of the major building trades.


HR will enter this information

Grade 33 Step 1, salary $44,474.40 . "Step" means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific
rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions
typically begin at Step 1.
