Job Description

Great Basin College is recruiting for a
Custodial Worker 2 for the Pahrump Center. The incumbent will be responsible for cleaning facilities, emptying garbage cans, shampooing and
buffing floors? repairing and maintaining janitorial equipment? making minor repairs to plumbing fixtures? assisting with grounds
maintenance such as fertilizing landscaping, snow removal, and painting? and other duties as assigned.


Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a
commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment? OR six months as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service? OR an
equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, these positions have been identified as affecting
public safety. Persons offered employment in these positions must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.


This position requires experience using janitorial machinery and equipment, such as low-speed buffers, industrial carpet
shampooers, and similar equipment.

This position requires experience and knowledge in the handling of potentially harmful

This position will require lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs, pushing 90+ pounds, and working outside
in inclement weather.

This position requires working in Pahrump, Nevada.


The typical work
schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm? This is subject to change based on organizational needs. This position is designated
as Essential Personnel. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this
position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
