Degree and area of specialization
Bachelor's degree with a major in a Chemistry or related field (e.g. Environmental
Sciences, Biochemistry, etc.) or a Health Science field (e.g. Medical Technology, Biology, etc.). An official or copy of an official,
transcript will be required prior to an offer of employment. (Applicants with degrees from foreign institutions must have the transcripts

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience
Minimum one year experience in a laboratory or
professional setting. Experience in an environmental laboratory setting preferred.

Knowledge of general, organic and analytical chemistry; knowledge of theory and instrument operation for laboratory instrumentation
including micro balance operation, pipetting, and gas chromatography; knowledge of statistics; knowledge of computer skills, their use and
application to a laboratory; knowledge of laboratory safety; knowledge of laboratory quality control and assurance; exceptional customer
service and interpersonal skills.

License or Certificate

Position Summary
This position functions under close progressing to limited supervision of the Chemist Supervisor
and will provide sample preparation and analytical support for a wide variety of analyses for environmental contaminates in air, water,
soil, sediment and other environmental matrices. Responsibilities may include participating in the analysis of PCBs, pesticides, total
organic carbon, volatiles, gravimetric determination and other environmental analyses. General responsibilities include instrument
maintenance, participation in the development and validation of new procedures, writing standard operating procedures (SOP), and
participation in the laboratory QA/QC program. In addition, this position will assist in other areas of laboratory as needed.
